We recently completed a full installation of a 316 grade stainless steel post and handrail system at Heckmondwike Primary School, delivering a safe, durable, and fully compliant access solution for a high-traffic environment.

This installation was designed to meet commercial safety standards while maintaining a clean, modern finish in keeping with the building.

The Brief

The client required a robust and compliant handrail system to:

• Improve accessibility across multiple entry points
• Provide safe navigation for sloped ramp areas
• Deliver a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution suitable for a school environment

Our Solution

We supplied and installed a brushed satin 316 grade stainless steel system (320 grit finish), designed specifically for external use.

Key features included:

• Full perimeter handrail system with continuous mid-rail
• Structurally sound post layout for high-traffic use
• Clean, modern finish to complement the building
• Durable fixings using resin anchoring into concrete bases

Installation Process

The project was delivered in three stages:

1. Site Survey & Design
   We carried out a detailed survey to ensure accurate positioning, levels, and compliance with access requirements.
2. Fabrication & Preparation
   All components were prepared and tailored to suit the exact layout of the ramps and surrounding areas.
3. Installation
   Our team installed the system on-site, including precision drilling, resin fixing of posts, and full alignment and leveling.

Final Result

The finished system provides safe and reliable access across all ramp areas, with a strong, commercial-grade installation built to last and a clean, professional appearance that enhances the site.
